Dawn happily made it down the aisle, ya'll!
For Dawn, I chose makeup styling that would really compliment her Harlem Renaissance theme. Her bridal party colors of rust gowns and gold shoes were very much autumn and a great compliment to the day. The weather was gorgeous. Really perfect for a fall wedding.
Dawn resides in Washington, D.C. She and her now-husband decided to wed in Richmond. I had the opportunity to provide makeup for Dawn, 7 bridesmaids and 2 flower girls at the Richmond Marriott located in downtown Richmond, VA. One flower girl just wanted blush and lip which was an easy request.
The bride had a room that was specifically designated for hair and makeup. That was a really great idea because it allowed us the ability to work with each party member in a more intimate setting. It also allowed each professional plenty of room to work. Often times, space is an asset, not a commodity when it comes to preparing a bride and her bridal party.
The bridal party and flower girls received makeup that was soft and natural. Dawn's makeup was also soft. She really wanted to be 'glammed" up. In her words, she was all about a "beat face." So, that's what we did. For her, she wanted more "natural, soft" glam that included lashes and a soft glow.
A highlight for me was showing her options other than what she had in mind for her day. We opted for a soft, very complimentary plum/orchid family lip. She really wore that well. I love when brides are open to different looks and colors.
Can't wait to see some of the final images from Jack Manning Photography (based out of Atlanta, GA).
Congrats Dawn and Jeryl!
