Wow. So this year has started out with a bit of a bang.
Kat Von D, founder and creator of Kat Von D Beauty, has announced that she has officially stepped down from her company— breaking the news on her Instagram feed on Thursday, January 16, 2020.
The announcement comes with news that she has sold her brand to her long time partner, Kendo. Von D contends that the brand will remain the same, offering the same great products, however, the brand will no longer carry her name. The new brand name, KVD Vegan Beauty, is what we can expect to see from now on.
Von D sights a few reasons for her exit such as the fact that she has a lot going on in her life right now-including a child, other business ventures and focusing on her music career (that also includes an upcoming tour).
While I find this news to be bittersweet, I can respect her choice. This multi-milion dollar vegan beauty brand has really been a great source of inspiration and comfort for me. The lip colors have been a favorite go-to. I have a couple favorite nude lippies that are the epitome of a natural, even lip and I look forward to them continuing to be around.
