On January 17 2017, we said "Happy Birthday" to the amazing Betty White! I am here for this. . .95 years young! I appreciate her so much. She is such an inspiration. Here's to a wonderful year!
She is definitely a beauty and has been serving up beautifulness for decades. It has been amazing watching her continue to work and really inspire so many of us. She also isn't afraid to rock a red lip or bold lip showing us all that with a little confidence and boldness, we can do anything.

Regal. Grace. Dignity. Class. And lastly, fashion and beauty icon. These are just a few words and phrases used to describe Michelle Obama.
The White House hasn't seen the likes of such a fashion icon since the 60s when Jackie Kennedy was serving the people with class and grace.
For me, personally, I had to post this because I remember just being in awe of this woman by the name of Michelle Obama along with countless others. Mrs. Obama has the power to command a room with her beauty, grace and fashion. She speaks with poise and elegance. She is loved and shows love to others with her warmth and welcoming personality.
In saying that, she isn't afraid to be her. During her time in the White House, she chose fashion designers who were new-up and coming. She launched careers. She caused chains like The Gap to sell out of clothing in record time. EVERY woman wanted to be like her. And let's talk about her physique. At 5'11", she's a tall, stunning woman who makes clothes look amazing. She encouraged all of us to be amazing.
I could go on but I'll stop here. Thank you, Mrs. Obama for having the courage, grace and style to be you. By doing so, you gave us permission to embrace who we were created to be.

Just wanted to take a moment to pay honor to a man who changed The United States of America as we know it.
In a time much like today, with social unrest and challenges, Dr. King didn't just sit back and let the world do its thing. He took a stand-along with many others to make the world different. We are still feeling the affects of that powerful stand today.
I'm not sure that many of us would be where we are today if not for him and people like him. We have been celebrating this national holiday for quite a while now. It says a lot when people push for a holiday to honor you decades after you leave this earth.
My hope is that we will all live our lives on purpose. Not just to serve ourselves or our families only but to serve mankind. The greatest sacrifice is to lay down your life for a friend (or someone other than yourself). In this instance, "laying down" isn't your physical body but rather your time and effort.
Thank you, Dr. King for being such a great example of living life on purpose and with purposeful intent!

Award season is back for 2017.
This time of year is pretty awesome for the fans of Hollywood fashion, hair and makeup. The Golden Globes were last night. We got a taste of what the season would be bringing us and it was pretty.
I'm going to briefly touch on a few highlights.
Tracey Ellis-Ross, Kerry Washington and Sofia Vergara gave us beautiful peek-a-boo sophistication with their choice of gown. Each look was tastefully done. The hair and a makeup complemented well.
Viola Davis looked radiant in her yellow. It really popped with her skin tone. She does not disappoint with her makeup, hair and gown choices. The yellow particularly stood out because it was bright yet not overly done. It was 'eye-catching'.
Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon looked great in yellow. Ms. Washington let the makeup do the talking with her bold bordeaux lip while Ms. Witherspoon took a softer approach with her makeup. Both were great choices for the actresses.
Powder blue was also stunning. Jessica Chastian looked stunning in her gown. It was prefect with her red hair. Black and black and white are always classic. These colors were seen quite a bit along with softer colors palettes including silvers, grays and golds. Goldie Hawn was a beauty in all black. Sequins and sparkly dresses made a strong appearance.
Wine and deep colored lips were in full swing. There were several red lips too and they were gorgeous. Those colors went well with the gown choices. There were some smoky eyes too but lips really took over this season. It's nice to see this shift in makeup on the red carpet.
Let's also talk about how great the men looked too! Very dapper. We often focus on the gowns but the men are looking great too. Let's talk about how GOOD Brad Pitt was looking last night, shall we??
Congrats to Meryl Streep for winning the lifetime award. She is absolutely one of my favorites for so many reasons. There were some great wins-including La La Land making history with 7 wins-more than any other film ever.

MAC just keeps coming with new collection after new collection after new collection.
Well, there's another one out now with Caitlin Jenner. The collaboration was recently announced and is actually on MAC's website now. There are multiple lipsticks for sale. Some of these colors are available online only. The collection is full of beautiful eye shadows, lipsticks and liners among other things. Shopping for beautiful makeup is easy with this new collection.
Congrats are in order for pop star Janet Jackson and her husband. It has been reported that she has given birth to a baby boy. No other major details were given about the 50-year old's latest venture. Based on news that is available, mother and son are doing well. Looking forward to seeing pics of the family. Right now, though, I'm hoping that the new parents will be able to get some rest in between all of the feedings, diaper changes and excitement surrounding a newborn.
Wow! It's here! It seems like the new year came way too fast and we're back to this time of year yet again.

The 2017 Color of the Year has been announced. The color is called Greenery and it's a beauty. Pantone is THEE color authority! If you've never heard of Pantone, you have definitely felt the influence of this brand. It has influenced color and fashion and beauty, not to mention home color combinations.
So, what does this mean for us? Basically, look out for some green, honey!
I love what Pantone says about this color choice. It's really a reflection of what is going on in the world we live in and are currently experiencing. To paraphrase, green represents renewal. Think Spring.
We are sure to see this in spring fashion and makeup lines, as well as home trends. Looking forward to seeing more of this color in the Spring and Summer of 2017.

This is GREAT news for those of us who are Selena fans. Originally set to make it's second appearance in January, 2017, MAC has officially announced that next Wednesday, December 28, 2016, the collection will be available at www.maccosmetics.com. If you don't want to wait to order online, you can find the collection in stores on Thursday, December 29, 2016.
This is much welcomed news to MAC fans and Selena fans a lot. It's a great way to celebrate the life and legacy of such a beautiful young star that left us too soon.
